  • LOCATION: Located on the UC San Diego campus in the area designated for John Muir College, the Mandeville Art Gallery is attached to the west end of the Mandeville Center for the Arts, and is closest to Scholars Lane. It is adjacent from the Main Gym.

Directions and Parking

Public Transit: Take the trolley's BLUE LINE to the UC San Diego Central Campus station (415 Lyman Lane, San Diego)

Rideshare: Direct your driver to UCSD's Main Gym, which is located at the dead end of Scholars Lane. The Mandeville Art Gallery is located right above the drop-off area, and accessible via a paved walkway.

Driving From 1-5 (from South):

  • Merge onto I-5 N
  • Take exit 28B for La Jolla Village Dr
  • Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto La Jolla Village Dr
  • Continue onto N Torrey Pines Rd
  • Turn right onto Muir College Dr
  • Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Scholars Dr N
  • Park in the Scholars Parking Garage (9655 Scholars Drive North, La Jolla, CA 92093)
  • Exit garage and follow signs to Ridge Walk
  • Take Ridge Walk south for 7 minutes to the Mandeville Art Gallery

Driving From 1-5 (from North):

  • Merge onto I-5 N
  • Take exit 29 for Genesee Ave
  • Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Genesee Ave
  • Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto N Torrey Pines Rd
  • Turn left onto Muir College Dr
  • Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Scholars Dr N
  • Park in the Scholars Parking Garage (9655 Scholars Drive North, La Jolla, CA 92093)
  • Exit garage and follow signs to Ridge Walk
  • Take Ridge Walk south for 7 minutes to the Mandeville Art Gallery

PARKING: The nearest parking lot with visitor spaces is the Scholars Parking Garage about a 7-minute walk to the gallery. Several other parking lots and garages on the campus are within a 5-10 minute walk of the gallery, however availability may be limited depending on the time of day.

All parking on the UC San Diego campus requires a permit available at a Pay Station using Visa, Mastercard or American Express only or on their mobile device with ParkMobile.

  • 30 minutes or less (no charge)
  • Each additional hour $4 (daily maximum $32)
  • After 5pm Weekdays and on Weekends $2/hr. (maximum $8)

The Mandeville Art Gallery is fully committed to providing a safe and accessible environment for all.

  • Located on the ground level, the gallery is ADA-compliant and accessible to those using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Should you need further assistance, speak to a Gallery Guide or visit the Welcome Desk. Service animals are welcome.
  • Exhibition-related texts are translated in Spanish and English both in print and in the galleries.
  • Gallery stools are available at the Welcome Desk.
  • We allow breastfeeding and bottle-feeding in all public spaces.
  • The UC San Diego campus is an Aira Access Location. With just a couple of taps, Aira connects people with a live agent that can describe visual information to individuals who are blind and low vision for free anywhere on the UC San Diego campus. Visitor Guide

  • Gallery Etiquette: Please refrain from touching the art on view, unless otherwise indicated. Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries. Please be mindful of your fellow visitors. Silence your phone and take calls outside. UC San Diego is a tobacco and smoke-free campus.
  • All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Exhibitions may contain content that adults may wish to preview before visiting with children.
  • We do not have a coat or bag check.
  • Restrooms: Wheelchair accessible, all gender, single occupancy bathrooms are located on the first floor of the Ernest W. Mandeville Center for the Arts building. For a guide to all gender and wheelchair accessible restrooms on campus, consult UC San Diego’s interactive map.
